Job Description
Silex Data Solutions is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant to lead and operationalize enterprise-wide IT asset management initiatives for a major client engagement. This role combines strategic ITAM leadership with hands-on process design and implementation. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across hardware and software asset lifecycles, data quality remediation, and governance model development — along with the ability to work collaboratively with client stakeholders, procurement, finance, and IT operations teams.
This is a high-impact engagement where you will assess the current state of asset management practices, design and implement improved ITAM processes from the ground up and serve as a trusted subject matter expert guiding a large organization through asset management transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- ITAM Strategy & Governance:Develop and implement ITAM policies, processes, and procedures aligned with industry best practices (ITIL, ISO 19770). Establish governance models spanning the full asset lifecycle — from procurement through disposition.
- Asset Lifecycle Management:Manage and optimize the full lifecycle of IT hardware and software assets including acquisition, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and retirement/disposition (ITAD).
- Data Quality & Reconciliation:Analyze and reconcile asset discovery data against inventory records, entitlement data, and contractual terms. Create and execute action plans to research and resolve identified data gaps across multiple source systems (e.g., Intune, JAMF, JIRA Assets, SharePoint, manual spreadsheets).
- Software Asset Management (SAM):Ensure SAM capabilities integrate with the larger ITAM governance framework, including CMDB, discovery, HAM, reclamation, and procurement workflows. Guide mapping of entitlements to software models and manage licensing compliance.
- Process Integration:Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related IT operations processes, including procurement management, contract management, change management, and incident management.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Lead workshops and discovery sessions to capture business, operational, and compliance requirements. Act as the primary liaison between IT operations, procurement, finance, security, and platform teams.
- End-of-Life (EoL) & Lifecycle Forecasting:Forecast, track, and notify stakeholders of critical lifecycle milestones, contractual expirations, renewals, and end-of-life dates. Leverage vendor portals and automation to maintain accurate lifecycle data.
- Automation & Tooling:Collaborate with engineering teams on automation solutions (e.g., Ansible, scripting) to streamline asset data collection, import processes, and reporting. Support integration of asset management tools with existing IT platforms.
- Cost Optimization:Actively seek and identify opportunities for cost savings and containment. Package and present ITAM savings opportunities to senior management.
- Documentation & Handover:Develop comprehensive documentation including process flows, design documents, test plans, user stories, and runbooks. Ensure knowledge transfer and handover to client teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ yearsof IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management, or closely related experience within enterprise-scale organizations.
- Strong knowledge of ITAM/SAM policies, procedures, frameworks, and industry standards (ITIL, ISO 19770).
- In-depth understanding of hardware and software licensing and maintenance models across major vendors.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing ITAM processes across the full asset lifecycle in complex, multi-platform environments.
- Proven ability to perform data quality assessments, reconciliation, and remediation across disparate data sources.
- Experience with asset management tooling such as JIRA Assets, ServiceNow HAM/SAM, or similar CMDB and discovery platforms.
- Strong analytical, assessment, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask across workstreams.
- Ability to lead stakeholder workshops, present to senior management, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or equivalent ITAM/SAM certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
- Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, JAMF, or SCCM.
- Familiarity with Atlassian products (JIRA, JIRA Assets/Insight, Confluence).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Professional development opportunities and certifications support.
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Nashville TN.
Type: Full-time
