The Role
We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer based in the Memphis area to be the technical lead in our sales process. You’ll work alongside our sales team to understand customer environments, design solutions, and show customers how our partners’ technology solves their problems. This is a remote position, with regular travel to customers in the Memphis area and occasional trips to Nashville/Franklin.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Sales Executives to qualify opportunities and lead technical discovery with customers
- Assess customer environments and design solutions across infrastructure, cloud, security, and data
- Deliver product demos, technical presentations, and proofs of concept
- Build bills of materials, solution designs, and technical sections of proposals and quotes
- Act as the trusted technical advisor to customers before and after the sale
- Hand off solutions smoothly to our delivery/professional services team
- Earn and maintain vendor technical certifications
- Stay current on partner products, roadmaps, and industry trends
What You Bring
- 3+ years in a pre-sales engineering, solutions architect, or senior systems/network engineering role, ideally at a VAR or solutions provider
- Hands-on experience with several of the following: data center infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualization), networking, cybersecurity, cloud (AWS/Azure), and observability/analytics platforms
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both IT staff and executives
- Experience building solution designs, BOMs, and proposals
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Splunk, VMware, AWS/Azure) are a strong plus
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to travel regionally
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
